PhD Scholars

Doctoral candidates

PhD positions are open for candidates with a strong background in organic chemistry, materials chemistry, physical chemistry, or photophysics. Funded via institute and national fellowships (UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, PMRF where applicable).

  • MSc/MS degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline
  • Valid national fellowship (UGC-NET / CSIR-NET / GATE / PMRF) is preferred
  • Interest in spectroscopy, synthesis, or device-facing organic materials
  • Excellent written and oral scientific communication

Postdoctoral Researchers

Postdoctoral fellows

Postdoctoral collaborations are welcomed in organic afterglow, TADF emitter design, computational materials chemistry, and high-resolution afterglow imaging. National and international fellowships supported.

  • PhD in chemistry, materials science, or photophysics
  • Strong publication record in a relevant area
  • Independent research aptitude and mentoring interest
  • Willingness to support national / international fellowship applications

MSc & Project Students

Master's thesis & project students

KL University MSc students and visiting project students can apply for thesis projects in photoluminescence, photochemistry, and OLED-related materials.

  • Background in chemistry, materials science, or applied physics
  • Coursework in spectroscopy and organic chemistry preferred
  • Comfort with laboratory work and basic instrumentation
  • Strong academic motivation

Undergraduate Research

Summer interns

Short-term research internships are occasionally available for highly motivated undergraduate students from chemistry, materials, and applied science programmes.

  • Strong academic record
  • Demonstrated curiosity in research
  • Commitment to a minimum 2-month duration
  • Preference for students with prior exposure to spectroscopy or organic chemistry

How to apply

A simple, professional application process.

  1. Compose a short email introducing yourself, your background, and why AURA Lab interests you.
  2. Attach your current CV (with publications, fellowships, and a clear academic timeline).
  3. Add a brief research statement (one page or less) describing what you'd like to work on and how it connects to the group's themes.
  4. Include contact details for one or two academic referees.
  5. Allow a reasonable response window; the PI replies to all serious applications.
